Flat Rate Pricing

Fares for all Brookline licensed taxicabs are established by the Brookline Transportation Board, Town of Brookline. Established fare for a ride may be calculated and recorded by a sealed taxi meter, which must be easily visible to all passengers inside the vehicle, or a flat rate price, if the community you are traveling to/from is listed as a Flat Rate Community in the Taxicab Fixed Rate Fare Handbook.

The following communities are not Flat Rate communities. All fares to these cities and towns shall be recorded on the meter: Brookline, Boston (including Allston, Brighton, Charlestown, Dorchester, E. Boston, Hyde Park, Jamaica Plain, Mattapan, Roslindale, Roxbury, S. Boston and W. Roxbury), Arlington, Belmont, Cambridge, Chelsea, Dedham, Everett, Malden, Medford, Melrose, Milton, Needham, Newton, Quincy, Revere, Somerville, Stoneham, Waltham, Watertown, Wellesley, Weston, Westwood, Winchester, Winthrop, Woburn.
